The PUMP, leg bag emptier, is a revolutionary new power wheelchair accessory that enables users to empty their urinary leg bags directly into a toilet or urinal with just the press of a button. The PUMP attaches to the outlet of the leg bag and directs the flow of urine out through the tip of a flexible Wand. A simple switch activated by the user turns the Pumping Unit on and off, and an ultra compact 12-volt Lithium Polymer Battery powers the wheelchair pump for up to 5 days with an overnight charge. How do I operate The PUMP leg bag emptier? It couldn’t be easier. When your urinary leg bag is full, maneuver your wheelchair within arm’s length of a toilet or urinal and extend the Wand. Press the Switch twice to activate the Pumping Unit and urine will flow from the leg bag and exit from the tip of the Wand. When the leg bag is empty, press the Switch once to turn off the Pumping Unit and return the Wand to its stowed position. That’s it. Simple, sanitary, and civilized.
How do I clean The PUMP? Cleaning the leg bag emptier is equally simple. A Rinse Kit is provided which includes a highly concentrated cleaning fluid and a custom standing pouch. Simply fill the Rinse Pouch with warm tap water and place 8-10 drops of the fluid in the pouch. Replace the screw cap and agitate the pouch gently to ensure the cleaning fluid is fully in solution. Then, connect the Rinse Pouch to the inlet of the Pumping Unit, direct the Wand into the toilet, and press the Switch twice to start the Pumping Unit. When the Rinse Pouch is empty, press the Switch once to stop the Pumping Unit. The cleaning process is now complete.
Is The PUMP covered by Medical Insurance? In most cases, yes. Please call your extended medical insurance or insurance provider to clarify. As with most third-party durable medical equipment (DME) suppliers, we do not verify insurance coverage for you.
